Petra Mede (born March 7, 1970) is a Swedish comedian and television host.[1] She grew up in Partille outside of Gothenburg. Mede is known for her roles in comic shows like Morgonsoffan and Parlamentet. She has also tried stand-up comedy on Stockholm Live. In 2009 she hosted Melodifestivalen 2009, where the Swedish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was chosen.[2] Mede took over the role as host for Melodifestivalen after Kristian Luuk.
Petra Mede was in 2009 voted Sweden's best female comedian. Mostly known as a TV show host with a witty tongue, Petra also has a keen interest in the environment and was selected as a Jury member for the Fun Theory Award competition at TheFunTheory.com.
